Keeping up the consistency
Came back late today. 12.30am past midnight. Had OM preparation at Wen Shu's house just now, so I skipped my exco chalet at coasta sands resort. Really wanted to go for the chalet, but I guess I would have to set what's more important to me at the moment, because since I've committed myself to OM, there must be at least a commendable amount of effort put into it. So I guess everything's coming along well there, though we're currently rushing props out. OM Singapore Finals is next Sat, left with 7 DAYS.
Had council interview yesterday evening, and I guess I've learnt quite a bit from there. Mr Ho, who happened to sat in to supervise the filming of our interview, talked to me at the podium area after the interview was over, and he gave me valuable pointers to improve on and encouraged me. For this I'm deeply grateful. But that aside, for this commitment I was 'scolded' by my Badminton coach for not being able to attend training. I guess somethings just don't go the way we want it to be. Badminton nationals are approaching, the draw will come out this wed or thurs according to my captain. Our fate will depend on this draw and how well we perform. I really really hope that this tournament will go well because I guess we have a fairly good chance to get into the next round, and with results from us, the school would be more willing to 'invest' more money in us and to help us get badminton appeal students in. Presently, the school doesn't allow any student to appeal in through badminton because we aren't a core sport, and we didn't produce results worthy of the school's attention. This is just part and parcel of a viscous cycle, once you produce results, the school will support your cca and it will cause your cca to 'flourish' and continue getting recognition. So if you do not have any result, then the school won't support through monetary means and the 'pulling in' of good players, thus the cca would continue to remain as it is. Sometimes i realy do think it's just another means of practising meritocracy. If you do well, the school will reward you with their support. Simple as that.
But I will train hard for my nationals. I want to do my best for the school. My coach mentioned that the team depends on me to win the entire match against our opponents. For this I will not disappoint my coach.
That's just my ccas, how 'bout my studies? Its getting pretty bad. I need to buck up in my work, because I realise I'm not spending time studying and revising or doing my homework on time. Everytime I reach home from school, it would be around 9 plus at night, and I would be so tired that my mind just tells me 'Hey, I need the bed asap. Get me there or else you'll know the consequences'. Studies are still my priorities, so I shall study hard and manage my time well.
