The taxi driver that drove me back home from school was quite wierd..in way that he was so stiff and tensed while driving. He changed gears so fast, and accelerated so fast, in a way that it seems quite artificial. I had to quickly find the seat belt..haha in case yeah you know. He didn't lean back on his seat a single bit, he simply sat upright, and really close to his steering wheel like he's super duper tensed up..and stressed..haha can't be me right.

Oh had dinner with the badminton team just now. We went to HCI poolside restaurant. It was a good interaction time, where everyone discussed their favourite teachers, subjects, and events happening in school. Good to hear some of the stuff =D

Met Basil while training, he came to look at the chinese dancers practice their dance for CNY performance.

Blister on my right big toe...haven't had one for ages!

Bleahx..

Hmm it's tuesday. Realised that I couldn't exactly remember the date when my dear annie cousin tried to confirm with me. Somehow I just went with the Mondays Tuesdays as the week went on.

For now I have been collecting mileage with my mum's car. Achievements so far..hahax, ermx successful attempts at improving my parking at HDB open parking lots (they use poles in the driving schools, which outside doesn't have hahax), fetched my mum from the shopping centre nearby, sent seumas to the SAF ferry terminal, and drove my mum to eunos in the morning for breakfast. Driving's really fun and exciting, yet a great responsibility is bestowed on me when i'm behind the wheel. Hence I must drive safely, because I cannot endanger other people's lives, as well as mine. hahax..my dad always tell me that it's like a dangerous weapon (the car). And i think it is really true. So got to be extra careful. Be bold, yet cautious.

Collected my biometric passport yesterday. Waited like 80min for the collection at ICA. But thankfully I had my book "reaching out" with me. And the iPod to listen and shut out distracting external noises. It was really crowded. Very packed.

Today, I met up with Preacher Luke at Kembangan MRT station at 3pm. We've agreed to meet up to explore the Park Connectors of the East, which was recently completed (the entire thing i think). But the weather was disappointing. Intermittent and so unpredictable. However, while we were taking cover at shelters, we had a meaningful talk abt spiritual life, churches, and so on. His burden is towards those teenagers that grew up in a Christian family, as they would backslide and are not as passionate as those who are not 'Christians' at birth.

After the 'gruelling' 3 hour plus cycling, we parted at Bedok camp. I got home at 6.25pm. And Annie called me to meet at 6.45pm at Simei MRT station. She wants me to accompany her to Liang Court to shop for a camera that she wants for herself. And so I went, but before meeting her, I got myself a new book called 'Reaching for the Invisible God' by Phillip Yancey. The shop owner told me the content's quite deep, but I thought it was worth the try, since it looked like it does ask good questions about the desire to connect with a God that we cannot see, hear, touch, smell, taste (this sounds wierd), but yeah, the God that is beyond all things.

Oh i crossed midnight alrdy.

Got to go read book alrdy. Covenant meeting this saturday at 7pm! Discussion and discussion! This coming sunday will be the last sunday before I leave for Taiwan. And I have only 1 day of CNY before leaving for Taiwan on the 8th Feb. Time to visit my relatives in Taiwan after like close to 2 years. I miss my grandparents! >.<

Will pray for them later!

Last sunday of the month! Time really flies by so quickly! I have passed my driving test, and have tried driving my mum's car out for a spin to the nearby towns. Still getting used to her car. And getting lots of 'requests' by the church people, because i'm a new driver hahax..maybe they want to see how good i am mahx..(what ego) =)

Reached church late for preparation because I woke up 15 min late. But still managed to warm up the voice a bit in time for service. Somehow i knew the lyrics of the songs, and didn't require any glances at the paper. So glad! I lead the congregation in a prayer of confession which i prepared last night at 1am. Oh, after offering came the announcements, and this was the hilarious part. To publicise an upcoming fellowship event for the secondary school ppl, I had to put on a lion dance prop and dance lol..and pose, and pose, and pose. But it was a success, because many people came up to tell me it caught everyone's attention lol. Must have made a fool of myself up there! When bible study ended, the few fellowship song leaders came together, and we picked out fellowship songs (for me to type into ppt because I was most free in this period of time>.<) So in the end, i have a pile of songs to type..it's gonna take a while..haahx

Oh i also bought a new book for my covenant discussion session this coming saturday evening. It's the book called 'Reaching Out' by Henri Nouwen, some catholic priest that writes wonderful spiritual books. Got to start reading it!

Back from driving. Had 2 lessons today. And my left leg aches from badminton, plus the constant clutching while driving. As of now, i have 1 revision lesson left before my practical test on sat! arghhh!! But i guess it's normal to be anxious and nervous. Have to let it come and then go with the flow.

I'm looking forward to a good weekend! =)

Haha i woke up a few times before jumping out of bed while thinking of training drills. That's probably because albert's smsed me to tell me that there's self training for the team today at 345pm. And first song of the day starts with My Glorious by delirious.

There's driving lesson later at 1020am. Breakfast with my mum at eunos before that. Yesterday when she heard the news that my dad's not down with any nose cancer, she was totally relieved and came charging at my and hugged me like 3-4 times! And she was crying...wow, didn't know that she was fasting in prayer for my dad. That's why I ate lunch alone yesterday. In case you were wondering why my mum's at home, that's because she was ill. And yet she still fasted through lunch..zzz but that's a gesture of love.

Bought two new cds and an english/chinese bible yesterday. Reuben Morgan and Delirious are added to my collection of artists.

Good morning to everyone and myself! Most people are in school studying...

Got to go now..

Nothing much coming up this week besides driving lessons. Yesterday i went back to school to help train the juniors, and work out abit. And landed myself with muscle-aches today >.< After the training I cabbed to Marina Sq where the church ppl were having dinner at some Jap restaurant and desert at Anderson's. I shared a couple fondue delight (think it's called this) with Alex, because he wanted to eat fondue, and no one else wanted to share with him. So I became 'gay' for that moment...haha sorry i'm not really interested (and can't/won't be) in being a real one. But it was a worthy treat, because the fondue was simply wonderful, heavenly, and sweet! (Maybe because I haven't had dinner yet haha).

Oh I haven't talked about why we went for dinner. Aik Siong and Alex are enlisting this coming friday into NS. So the church people wanted to give them encouragement and support. Both of them seem to become really emo. But we all prayed for them outside Marina Sq, some area exposed to the night sky, where we could see the 'London' ferry wheel. Afterwhich we departed and went separate ways.

My mum's ill today, so she didn't head for office. And she's like having quiet time the entire morning! I'm amazed at her discipline. She suggested that I watch some recorded videos of sermons from FCBC (her church), and I watched for a while, before switching to City Harvest's. And then I closed both, and decided to listen to Christian music instead hahax...how lazy that sounds. Maybe I'll go read the papers later.

4 days to driving test! =)

Laters..

It's a sunday today. Had quite a long day at church. The usual morning service at 830am. Bible study which followed. Lunch out with Alex. Then fellowship. I had the opportunity to lead singsperation today. It was not bad, at least for a first try. Must think of improvements for next time!

Oh it's halfway through January now. There's like exactly 1 week to my traffic police test. Haha it's exciting yet makes one feel nervous. It's like a milestone in one's life. I really like driving, whizzzzzing past people, and be on par with all the other vehicles that used to whizz past me while I was cycling..I have adequate lessons, so I'm getting all focused on passing my test!

I have to get back into shape already! Thurs cca training with the new coach is simply quite a lot considering that I haven't been running or exercising for the past 6 months after competitions ended in late may last year. Bleahx...guess i have to work out more, run more, swim more, breathe more, get more tan, to look in shape and feel in shape. Got to start asap!

I'm leading singsperation this coming sunday during fellowship. I'm seriously looking forward to it. It's a step closer to me being a worship leader! Went to yingting's place today to run through the sequences, introductions, and chords. And I must say that it's a good start, we just have to improve with every single opportunity we get! I'm sure both of us will play a huge role in the worship ministry in the near future =) Hahah have to set a clear vision..

Alex's getting overly worried about many things, and i've been a listening ear whenever he needs me. It motivates me to work harder to get closer to God so that I can continue to help him and edify him. But eventually I know that God will be the one that sets him (and all of us) free, and look beyond worldly things and events. Reminder to myself! I have to ring Peiqi's doorbell this sunday to chase her to church. Haven't seen her for quite a while.

And everyday I continue to strive for solitude. In solitude I can put all the failures and successes of this world aside, and focus on Him. This doesn't mean I totally ignore the events of the world. We should live in this world without being of it. It's not easy..really, procrastination everyday. Is it just so difficult to set aside time to be in solitude (quiet time) ? I have to think harder on that...*knocks head*..hahax

Went to apply for a biometrics passport today. The lady at the counter in ICA told me that to change photo for passport, you have to apply for a new one. So i did. 70 bucks for the new book, and i have to wait. Everything's DIY. Take form, fill in the details yourself, paste your photo, sign the form, write down credit card details or NETS/CASHCARD payment slip. Then throw the completed form into the slit at some box. That's it. Simple and quick. It's the new security thing now..with the DIY self scan through customs..hahax cool.

When's LSE going to send their reply?? Only have offers from UCL, bristol, and edinburgh..have to wait in patience! =)

tired...

adjourned here.

Just finished a youth fellowship training retreat today. It started at 10am yesterday, and lasted till the end of the service this morning. Learn pretty much about budgeting and leading worships, which are quite useful. At night we watched "tuesdays with Morrie" after Andy,Yufen and I finished 'cha hua' (designing a big standing flower bouquet) past midnight.

After the movie, I talked to Andy about plenty of things, which do set me thinking. I asked him about relationships, and how confusing it can get. Those feelings, emotions, attitudes, responses, gestures, words, confessions, rejections, break-ups, and intimacy...still do not come across with clarity. Perhaps I need a tuesday with Morrie to seek his clear understanding of things. I guess there's a high tendency for me to rush into things, and sometimes it's muddleheaded of me to do so. The process may be good, but the sole purpose is not thoroughly checked, and in the end, disappointment, hurt, sorrow, fear would follow. Sigh. It is not easy to handle such things sometimes.

Many other aspects of my character would lead so such scenarios perhaps. The desire to live up others' expectations, yet am self-centred, care too much about what others feel. It's seems common to everyone, maybe the extent isn't that great. jeez..

The New Year has arrived

Welcoming 2008. Strange. Wierd. Exciting. Yet different. Obviously different eh. Felt the pinch of the expiry of my EZ link card. Everything's adult fare now. Kinda makes one miss the double *beep* sound everytime you tap while one boards the bus. We have become more cautious about travelling around now, since the monetary value depletes just as rapidly as one skydives.

Certain things to do:
-learn guitar
-pass and ace driving test
-work
-develop my relationship with God
-help train the junior badminton team, while i train for army

That's all that I can think for now..hahax
